Bob’s Discount Furniture Donates to Veterans Home
Aug 9th 2019
My Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation recently partnered with the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs and made a furniture donation worth over $15,000 to the Veterans Home in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The donation assisted in completing a living space improvement project in the Veterans Home’s c-wing.
On June 25th, Bob’s representatives Kathryn Pianta, Kathy Young, and Kurt Pappalardo were on-hand to witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Veterans Home in Rocky Hill. Bob’s Discount Furniture’s donation included loveseats, recliners, coffee tables, and area rugs, which furnished common areas in the residential facility and will afford veterans the comfort and privacy that they deserve.
The Connecticut Veterans Home was established in 1864 and has been operating in Rocky Hill since 1940. It aims to provide veterans with “a continuum of rehabilitation services and programs designed to return them to independent living.” The home provides a variety of services to veterans, including medical support, vocational training, and transportation assistance.
